The rebirth & imagination of emerging artist Sean Christopher
Born and raised in the urban streets of Detroit, Michigan 44 years ago is where it all began. I have always been fascinated about the arts no matter the art discipline. I suppose that comes from my artistic family members. My older brother was a comic book artist, while my mother majored in commercial arts at the prestigious Cass Technical high school in Detroit. I would later parallel that gesture by attending the Detroit HS for the Arts. My art trajectory progressed into my college years at the College for Creative Studies. However, during that part of my artistic journey it came with some hardships, from family issues and financial struggles, which would lead me away from drawing & painting into a mild depression. Even after 24 years removed from my artistic motivations and enduring a global pandemic, an inner spark gave me a spiritual awakening. This rebirth was rooted in loved ones that believed in my purpose.
About
This body of work encompasses both human and plant life, depicting their similar qualities of connection by divine design. Inspired by nature, realism & conceptual art practices these 10 watercolor paintings are my interpretation of the stories afforded to me. Showcasing both evolution & resilience in the ways we continually thrive amongst the stars in the universe.
